“...your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake” (1 John 2:12).
Forgiven.
My sins have been left behind.
But not left behind in a place of no consequence nor of little significance - a place without a name.
There are places we leave we hope never to return to.
There are places we come to we hope never to leave.
Such places are the places we treasure and tell everyone about - we never forget the name.
The cross. A place of eternal significance.
Jesus. A name of infinite worth.
It is for HIS name’s sake that I have been forgiven!
The forgiveness of my sins magnifies the glory of His name, not mine.
So, I live out of my forgiveness for Him.
Like blossoms respond to Spring, so our hearts respond to His forgiveness.
The shape, the smell, the color, the details - it’s all in response to Him.
His forgiveness is unfathomable.
His love is unmistakable.
BUT HIS NAME is Jesus Christ.
I live for Him, because of Him, through Him.
“...your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake” (1 John 2:12).
