We find great comfort in the company of certain people - a father, a mother, a friend, a mentor. When trouble comes, we know who to call. And we call them because when they're by our side, when they speak to us, when they embrace us, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt: we're not alone.
How much more should we feel this way about our heavenly Father when we come to Him in prayer?
You are not alone when you pray.
The Spirit of God, the Helper, "helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words." (Romans 8:26) He knows what we want to pray for, but can't; what we should pray for, but don't.
The Son of God, Jesus Christ, "is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us." (Romans 8:34). He is our Savior and His name ensures that we will receive everything according to God's will.
No, you are not alone when you pray. You are in the presence of God! You are not helpless, but helped. You are not rejected, but accepted. You are not ignored, but welcomed. You are not hurried, but heard. You are not lost, but carried.
